Battle for the New Order

Age of the First Empires battle 2 700 BIC

The Battle of the New Order represents one of the most pivotal military engagements of Ulvenor's early history. In this battle, the clash of two different approaches to warfare – the traditional defensive power of the Old Norse Empire and the innovative tactics of the Trabazar Kingdom – was on full display. The result was not just the defeat of one army, but the definitive end of the millennial empire.

Two different visions of war

When the armies of the Old Nordic Empire and Trabazar clashed in the area of today's Nickel Hills, it was not just a fight for territory. It was a clash of two approaches to warfare. On one side stood an army built on tradition, strength and solid defense. On the other hand, an army that relied on movement, tactics and new technologies. King Jirex III bet on a proven model. Elevated terrain, a heavily armored first line of dwarves, archers in reserve and cavalry ready to strike. This model has worked for centuries. However, Trabazar faced an opponent who did not intend to adapt to the rules of the past.

Mobile war

General Quilore brought a novelty to the battlefield that changed the course of the entire battle - mobile chariots with archers. These units were able to attack, retreat and remain protected at the same time. They represented an unpredictable problem for the Old Norse army. Their own archers had difficulty hitting these targets and the infantry could not react quickly enough. As the cavalry went after the retreating wagons, they walked into a prepared trap. Hidden spearmen were waiting in terrain that had been pre-selected just for this purpose. The ride was surrounded and destroyed within a short time.

Fall of shield line

The loss of cavalry meant a fundamental weakening of the entire army. Trabazar immediately took advantage of the situation and brought his forces closer to the main line. Instead of directly confronting the dwarves who formed a solid defensive wall, Quilore took a different approach. His soldiers began to systematically pepper the rear lines with arrows and spears. This forced the second line to retreat and isolated the heavily armored dwarves. Unsupported and with limited mobility, they became vulnerable to bypass. Still, they fought to the last strength before being gradually overwhelmed.

The King's Decision

When Jirex III. seeing that his army was broken and that further resistance would only lead to total annihilation, he decided to surrender. His surrender was not a sign of weakness, but a last ditch effort to save what was left of his people. However, at that moment it was clear that the Old Norse Empire was over.

The meaning of battle

The battle for the New Order was not just a military victory for Trabazar. It was a symbol of the end of one era and the beginning of a new one. She showed that tradition and strength are no longer enough if they are not complemented by the ability to adapt. From this moment, Ulvenor began to enter a period where tactics, organization and innovation were decisive. For the dwarves, this battle marked a turning point. It was here that their new identity was born – shield dwarves who survived the fall of the empire and took its legacy with them.
