After his election, Frederik I had to face opposition and instability throughout the empire. He consolidated his rule through a combination of military force, economic intervention, propaganda, and the systematic removal of the remnants of the Magnur dynasty. Although he stabilized the empire, his rule was built on fear, manipulation and hidden violence.
Unaccepted Ruler
Frederik I was not widely accepted as the legitimate emperor. The remnants of the House of Magnur hated him, and the opposition was evident even within the court. Even his own wife harbored hostility towards him, leading to her isolation. The new emperor was aware that without a quick consolidation of power, his reign would not last long. Therefore, he immediately began to act and build a strong foothold in the army and among the nobility.

A crucial step was to ensure the loyalty of the army through regular payments and financial benefits. Satisfied troops became the pillar of his power and allowed him to quell unrest in the empire. At the same time, he invested large amounts in the market and the economy, which led to its recovery, but also to significant inflation. It reached approximately twenty percent within ten years, which was significantly more than in previous periods.
Liquidation of the old family
Frederik gradually systematically removed the remnants of the Magnur dynasty. Members of the family were accused of various crimes, often fabricated, and subsequently imprisoned, executed or deprived of their property. He distributed the acquired estates and titles to his allies and relatives, thereby building a new power structure loyal exclusively to him and his family.
Propaganda and the Cult of Power
At the same time, Frederik worked on rewriting history and strengthening the image of the Render family. In return, historians created stories to legitimize his rule and link it to the past. After the death of Emanuel, he organized the magnificent Imperial Games to celebrate his brother and strengthen the cult of the new house. Only successes were presented to the public, while violence and intrigue remained hidden.
Violent ending
Frederik's reign ended abruptly in a road ambush that was officially attributed to bandits. However, the circumstances indicated that it could have been a planned assassination.
