The Great Slaughter of the Renderians

Magnursie — House of Renders coordinated purge and dynastic fall 922 IC

The great slaughter of the Renders was a coordinated action by several powerful families, mainly the Ariers and Zelins, which destroyed almost the entire Render family in a single day. Assassinations led by a group of Skull Hunters hit thousands of targets across the empire and led to the immediate collapse of the ruling dynasty. The event marked the end of the render era and opened the way for a new balance of power.

A long growing resistance

Dissatisfaction with Render rule had been building for generations. The dynasty failed to fulfill its promises to stabilize the empire, and provincial losses continued. Many clans began to perceive their rule as an obstacle to further development and their own power. Special hatred was directed towards the Peacemakers' Guild, which symbolized surveillance, control and harsh measures against opponents. When their main building was set on fire, it became clear that the opposition was no longer just hidden, but ready to act.

Plan of several genera

Behind the event itself was an alliance of several important families, headed by the Ariers and Zelinovci. Their goal was not only to weaken the Emperor, but to completely eliminate the Renderians as a ruling dynasty. At the same time, they took the opportunity to weaken other houses, especially the Poldechs, where select members, including the Elianes, were murdered during the attacks. However, unlike the Renders, this was not a systematic extermination, but a strategic weakening.

Day of Blood

On the 8th of Floranis in 922, a coordinated wave of assassinations began throughout the empire. A group of Skull Hunters was hired to carry out this operation, and its members attacked dozens of locations simultaneously. In a single day, more than five thousand people associated with House Render were killed—not only the nobles, but also their protectors, servants, and allies. The action lasted for hours and was carried out with extreme precision and brutality.

The fall of a dynasty

Emperor Francis I was assassinated the same day the purge began. His death symbolically concluded the reign of the Renders, which ended as violently as it had once been established. Only a handful of family members managed to escape beyond the borders of the empire, probably to the Free Kingdom. The rest of the dynasty was practically wiped out in a single day.
