Cerbert

King of the Stone Crown Guardian of the West Gate Age of the First Empires

Cerbert was a dwarven king who led the defense of the Stonecrown during the first great war with the cave goblins. His death at the West Stone Gate became a symbol of the fall of the old certainty and the beginning of a new era of danger in the underground.

King of fixed order

Cerbert was the personification of dwarven tradition. He believed in the strength of the shield, the solidity of the formation and the unwavering advance. Under his rule, the Stonecrown still believed that its power was unshakable and that no enemy could stand against dwarven discipline.

A war he didn't know

When the cave goblins appeared, Cerbert initially underestimated the situation. He believed that these were just other enemies that could be defeated by force. He didn't realize he was facing an enemy that didn't play by the known rules. The underground war was different - unpredictable and full of traps.

The last battle

Cerbert personally led the army to the West Stone Gate. He believed that a decisive blow would end the conflict. When he was surrounded, he refused to retreat. He fought until his last breath. His death was cruel, but dignified – the kind a dwarf king would have wanted.

A legacy of defeat

Cerbert's death shook the entire Stone Crown. For the first time, it was shown that even dwarves are not invincible. To this day, he is seen as a hero, but also as a warning - that even the strongest empire can fall if it cannot understand its enemy.
