During the reign of Ignatius II. magic first began to be systematically associated with war. A key role in this was played by Ender, the first truly great magical authority of the court and the man who helped create the foundations of future battle mages.

Ender

Ender wasn't just a teacher or a mentor. He was one of the first mages to understand that magic could function not only as a personal discipline, but also as an organized instrument of state power. His influence extended from court intrigue to the future structure of magical education.

The Shield Wall and the Battle of Jitron

Although specific battles belong to the battle archive, the historical significance of their results falls here. Just under Ignatius II. the shield wall appeared as a response to the alien fighting style, and the Battle of Jitron saw magic used on a decisive scale for the first time. This changed the nature of the war and the position of magical scholars within the state.

The Beginning of Battle Mages

The first true martial mages grew out of the newly emerging schools and circles. These people were no longer just scholars or court freaks. They became a military category. From this point on, it was clear that the continent's future conflicts would look different from all the wars before them.
