Property surrendered to the order
Members of the Order of the White Horse had to give up the possibility of acquiring personal property and surrendered everything to their master. This principle was supposed to purify the order from common aristocratic greed, but at the same time it quickly brought him considerable wealth. In addition, the order accepted payments from nobles whom it helped suppress riots. Thanks to this, it gradually became not only a military, but also an economically significant institution.

Its ranks included experienced warriors looking for glory, but also members of important families for whom it was necessary to find a safe place outside of direct politics. The Order of the White Horse thus became not only an instrument of order, but also an elegant way for the empire to purge dangerous or redundant aristocrats without the need for bloodshed.
