Silent preparations for the Great War

Magnursie — Kings of Magic state and intelligence transformation 154–122 BIC

Under Ignatius III. Magnursie was turning into a power that was no longer just preparing for defense, but for dominance. Magic, spies, and fortifications combined into a system designed for a major continental conflict.

State monopoly of magic

Ignatius III restricted access to magic schools to the kingdom's residents. In doing so he created the first truly conscious attempt to make magic a strategic advantage reserved for the state. Magic was no longer just knowledge. It has become an instrument of geopolitics.

Spy network and second line of defense

The king developed espionage to an unprecedented extent and at the same time completed the second line of defense. This combination of internal awareness and external preparedness created a new type of state power. Magnursie began not only to react to danger, but to actively anticipate it.

Preparing for the Great War

Ignac's territorial claims to his neighbors were not intended as a realistic path to reconciliation. These were deliberately heightened demands to set the stage for future conflict. That is why his reign is considered a direct anteroom of the Great War.
