Wor-ag

Warlord of Velvet Bows Kobold Strategist of the Northwest The one that broke the die-hards Empire, period of the early Renders

Wor-ag was a goblin warlord who rose to fame during the campaign against the northwestern provinces of the empire during the reign of Frederik II. He entered history primarily thanks to his victory in the Battle of the Velvet Meadows, where he was able to destroy a much more famous and numerically stronger Imperial army using an ambush, knowledge of the terrain and a combination of magic and unusual weapons. It remained in the kobold memory as a symbol of military prowess and proof that the kobolds were no longer just a marginal force, but a nation capable of defeating the Empire itself.

Commander of the new kobold war

Wor-ag was not the old type of warrior who relied only on courage and direct confrontation. He already belonged to a generation of commanders who grew up in a world where kobolds mastered magic, knew how to cooperate with goblin tribes, and established purposeful alliances even with smaller dwarven colonies. It was this ability to combine various elements into one functional unit that set him apart from many older leaders. Under his leadership, kobold warfare became more flexible, smarter, and less predictable. It was not an army that would defeat the Empire with the force of a frontal impact, but an adversary that forced the Imperial troops to enter the fight according to foreign rules.

Battle On the Velvet Meadows

Wor-ag's most famous moment came at the Battle of the Velvet Meadows. Opposing his army were approximately seventy-five thousand imperial soldiers, i.e. the remnants of the second expedition and the fresh third expedition. About sixty thousand warriors fought on the kobold side, mostly kobolds, but also goblins and dwarves. Although the Imperial army was outnumbered and on paper stronger, Wor-ag was able to prepare the battlefield to turn their main advantage against them. He used magic and landscaping to disguise the swamps near the battlefield. When the Imperial heavies went on the attack, they stepped right into the soft, treacherous ground they began to get stuck in. At that moment, arrows, fire and other magical missiles hit them. And when the fight moved into closer contact, they deployed kobolds as well as gas grenades, the effect of which was devastating to the tightly packed Imperial formations.

The man who changed the boundary

The result of the battle was not just one victory. Wor-ag with his defeat of the imperial army forced Frederik II. to a truce and contributed to the Northwest Provinces being lost and incorporated into the Great Plains area. In doing so, he affected not only the military prestige of the empire, but also its actual map. In kobold lore, Wor-ag is seen as a warlord who showed that the Empire was not invincible. His name has survived as legend, and in many kobold tales he represents the ideal of a commander who wins not by brute force, but by understanding the landscape, timing, and the ability to strike where his opponent least expects it.
