The Rise and Fall of the Kuvigha Empire
Birth of a unifier
The Kuvigh did not come from a royal line or an ancient house. He was a product of a world where status was determined by strength, will and the ability to lead others. At a time when orcs were already penetrating the west and clashing with new races, he understood one essential thing - that divided tribes could not survive in the long term against organized nations. Therefore, he began to gradually unite the individual tribes, either by force or by conviction. He offered them a simple idea: a better life in the more fertile lands of the west.
Campaign against nomads
Kuvigh's unification of the tribes led to the first truly coordinated orc expansion. His target became the nomadic peoples who inhabited the territory between the east and the west. The orcs moved fast and hard under his leadership. The nomads were not prepared for such an organized pressure and were forced to retreat. This began the first great migration of peoples in this part of Ulvenor. The nomadic tribes were pushed further and further west, while the orcs gained new territories.
The pinnacle of power
At some point, Kuvigh came close to doing what no orc before him had done—creating a true empire. However, his power still rested primarily on his personality. There were no fixed institutions, no inheritance system, no structure to survive his death. Still, he was a legend in the eyes of the orcs. He did what seemed impossible - to unite a nation that had been divided for millennia.
The intervention of the elves
The growing power of the orcs did not escape the notice of the elves. They began to perceive Kuvigh as a threat that could upset the balance of the continent. They finally managed to capture Kuvigh and imprisoned him for fifteen long years. This period had a major impact on him. After his release, he was no longer the same leader. He had lost some of his will and ambition, and his next steps were significantly more cautious.
Fall of an empire
After Kuvigh's death, the greatest weakness of his work became apparent. Without a strong leader, the united tribes quickly began to disintegrate. The orcs returned to their traditional way of life - tribal structure and smaller communities. The nomads gradually regained some of their territories, and Kuvigh's empire became more of a legend than a permanent change in political order.
Legacy of Kuvigha
Although his empire did not last, Kuvigh changed orc history. He showed that unification was possible and that orcs could be more than just divided tribes. His name has survived as a symbol of strength, ambition and untapped potential. For many orcs, it remains proof that their nation has the ability to rise again one day—perhaps permanently this time.
