Elven suppression of the cult of Gharmoth

Age of the First Empires religious conflict 4 281 BIC

The spread of Gharmoth's cult led to one of the first major religious conflicts on Ulvenor. Declaring the practice of blood rituals unacceptable, the elves began a systematic extermination of the occultists, forcing the remnants of the cult to retreat eastward.

The rise of dark religion

After the death of Gharmoth, his teachings did not die out. On the contrary – it began to spread among humans and other races. Some of the most devoted followers began to show real changes—increased strength, speed, and extended life.

Elven resistance

To the elves, these practices represented an unacceptable disruption of the natural order. The cult was seen as a perversion that destroyed the balance between life and nature. The elves therefore began a systematic persecution of its members.

Escape to the east

The remnants of the cult were forced to flee. The only direction they could go was east – into unexplored and isolated areas. This brought Gharmoth's teachings into contact with the orcs, leading to another major clash.
