Pender the Strong
Pender the Strong was the first goblin to unite several tribes under a single will and create a short-lived goblin empire. His rise was swift and brutal, his fall just as sudden—and his death changed goblin history forever.
The path of dominance
Pender did not emerge as heir or chosen. His strength lay in understanding the goblins of society. He knew that the leader had to be the strongest—and that he had to prove that strength. He gradually challenged the leaders of the five tribes to one-on-one duels. Each victory was not only physical dominance, but also symbolic subjugation of the entire tribe. In this way, he created something the goblins had never known before - a unity based on both respect and fear.
A ruler without a system
Pender's power was absolute, but at the same time fragile. It did not rely on structures, laws or traditions. It existed only because of his personal power. His empire was an extension of his will. He could conquer cities, unite tribes, and lead great campaigns, but he could not create a system that would outlive himself. It was this weakness that became fatal.
Durbuluk
After conquering Hirch, he had the title of Durbuluk - the dominator of all goblins - granted to him. This title was not only a sign of power, but also a confirmation of his position as the highest authority. Pender became a legend during his lifetime. To the Orcs, he represented proof that their race could achieve greatness. At the same time, however, his government stood on one thing - that he would never lose.
The fall of a legend
At the Battle of the Hultwin River, Pender first encountered an opponent who did not play by his rules. The Elves did not accept the fight as a clash of strength, but as a duel of tactics. When he was finally defeated by Enhih, it wasn't just the leader who died. The very foundation of his empire had died. His death caused the immediate disintegration of the united tribes and ended the Orcs' first attempt at creating a great civilization.
